7-1-2011 – KTA Completes Large Scale Emergency Response Plans (FRP and SPCC) for the combined Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base. The plans include responses for emergencies throughout the two bases. Included in the potential emergencies are those related to the spill of oil and hazardous materials. The plans also identify and confirm design requirements for oil storage and spill equipment at over 1,000 aboveground fuel storage tanks, some of which exceed 500,000 gallons. These are particularly important plans as they are amongst the first to combine actions at the newly formed joint base (Army and Air Force).
