Project Description

KTA has performed several tasks for the Fort Lewis Army Base, one of the largest army bases in the United States. The tasks included the development of a facility response plan for the base, followed by a successful negotiation of approval with the United States Environmental Protection Agency. KTA then led the development of a Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan for over 1,000 aboveground storage tanks containing petroleum. KTA supported the development and provided emergency response experts for a high visibility 24 hour weapons of mass destruction exercise. KTA led the performance of hydrocarbon vapor intrusion testing at enlisted personnel housing. KTA also supported the conversion of a large landfill and stormwater management lagoon to an eco-park used today for recreational activities.
